The group came up with a plan that was unknown to me, but it worked, and saved me money and grief. I'm very pleased and grateful!

Theft Crimes

Theft crimes include a number of different offenses, but a person can be charged with theft if they knowingly and intentionally take another’s property without permission. Further, it is also a crime to accept property that you know has been stolen. Theft charges are serious and require an experienced defense attorney.

At Englett and Associates, we have the experience needed to defend our clients against all types of theft crimes, including, but not limited to:

Credit Card Theft
Fraud (theft by deception)
Grand Theft Auto
Identity Theft
Robbery/Armed Robbery
These charges can be classified as either petty theft or grand theft. Petty theft refers to theft offenses in which the value of the stolen property or assets is less than $300, and is a misdemeanor charge. In cases where the value is more than $300, the charges are classified as grand theft.

Grand theft has three classifications, as follows:

Grand theft in the 3rd degree: the value of the property was over $300 but less than $20,000.
Grand theft in the 2nd degree: the value of the property was between $20,000 and $100,000.
Grand theft in the 1st degree: the value of the property was more than $100,000.
The penalties vary based on the perceived severity of the offense. For example, a petty theft may bring minimal punishment. However, a First Degree Grand Theft may come with substantial prison time. For instance, petty theft may result in a small fine with no jail time, while grand theft in the first degree, could land you in prison for 30 years on top of extremely high fines. Either way, a theft crimes conviction can take a heavy toll on your future. It’s important to have an experienced defense attorney with a proven track record to defend your case.
